Moruya Medical Centre is seeking a VR GP in our growing Associate Medical Practice on the NSW South Coast. The busy practice currently has 7 GP's, Registrars, medical students and full time nursing cover. Position commitment includes a shared VMO Roster for on-call cover.
Wage negotiable with view to Associateship. We can also offer residential accommodation.

Casual Front Office Receptionist
Moruya Medical Centre is looking for an enthusiastic casual receptionist to join our busy team. The successful applicant must have proven interpersonal skills, organisational skills, excellent customer service skills, a high level of computer skills and the ability to work under pressure in a challenging and changing environment.

DUTIES:
- To receive patients to clinic
- To answer all incoming calls in a professional and empathetic manner
- To ensure patients’ needs in terms of immediate and on-going care are met before and after consultation
- To communicate effectively with patients, doctors, CDM facilitators, practice nurses, management and other support staff at all times
- To notify medical staff of any potential emergencies and assist patient to treatment area if required
- To record patient and family demographic details accurately on computer data base (Best Practice)
- To enter and update doctor’s computer appointment system accurately
- To be responsible for day to day accounting re practice management billing software (Best Practice)
- To ensure patient and practice correspondence is distributed appropriately, acknowledged and filed/scanned correctly
- To carry out routine housekeeping and stationery stocking requirements when required
- To perform routine office tasks such as sorting incoming mail, filing, photocopying, faxing, scanning and any other office errands as required
- To balance the daily takings at the end of each day
- To perform weekly banking as required
- To perform electronic batching of bulk claims as required
- To perform electronic downloading of test results during shift as required
- To ensure answering machine is activated each evening with appropriate message when doing late shift, and deactivated when covering the early shift
- To ensure all equipment and lighting is turned off and exterior doors and windows are secured when doing late shift
- To take responsibility for activating and deactivating security alarm at beginning and end of shift if required
- To liaise effectively with other staff at beginning, during and end of shifts to ensure adequate communication is maintained and problems and difficulties solved or avoided
- To adhere to all policy and procedures as set out in the Moruya Medical Centre Policy and Procedure Manual
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
- Demonstrated organisational and administrative skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to communicate comfortably and effectively with the diverse community serviced by this medical practice
- Excellent telephone manner
- Ability to accurately record and transfer messages
- Demonstrated high level of computer skills
- The ability to multi-task and work under pressure
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Formal qualifications in office administration
- Previous experience within the medical industry
- A customer service background
- Drivers Licence
